Join the Office of Governmental Affairs (OGA), where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the public policy landscape that impacts New York Life, our agents, and our policy owners. Collaborate with dedicated colleagues in OGA and across the company to support the company‘s public policy agenda.
Role Overview:
This position reports to the Vice President of PAC and Grassroots and collaborates with the State and Federal lobbying teams to support grassroots lobbying initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Working with Agency leadership and others, identify agents to engage in New York Life’s grassroots advocacy.
- Equip agents to successfully advocate with policymakers by providing training videos, briefing documents and logistical support in scheduling meetings.
- Track agent engagement to identify top advocates.
- Organize advocacy conferences in Washington, DC and select state capitals, including agent advocacy training sessions.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with agents, Agency leadership, OGA colleagues, and corporate events team.
- Communicate the importance of constituent advocacy to inspire agents to volunteer their time and remain engaged.
- In concert with OGA subject matter experts, develop and distribute to agents persuasive and informative content, including emails and webinars, to support OGA’s grassroots lobbying priorities.
- Coordinate NYL agent participation in NAIFA’s advocacy conferences
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in corporate government affairs
- Track record of delivering results on-time, on-budget and following through on commitments
- Self-starter with a bias for action and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal communication and persuasion skills
- Ability to operate in a bipartisan environment
- Ability to manage complex logistics, including large-scale advocacy events
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Collaborative working style
- Strong project management
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $81,000 - $115,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
