The Job

The Inventory Lead oversees the inventory processes in the DC, ensuring accurate stock management and an organized flow of merchandise. This role is responsible for tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventory levels to support sales, uphold delivery standards, and optimize customer experience. The Inventory Lead collaborates closely with DC teams, Stores, Customer Care and management and has lead level supervisory responsibilities.

The Opportunity

Inventory Management:

  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and full inventory audits to maintain accurate on-hand stock levels across the DC.
  • Track incoming and outgoing merchandise through the WMS/inventory system, ensuring accurate receipt confirmation, putaway, and pick location recording.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies at the source investigating root cause (mis-picks, mis-putaways, damage, shrink) before they compound into larger accuracy issues.

Merchandise Organization & Slotting:

  • Maintain organized, labeled storage locations across all zones (bulk, reserve, pick face) to support efficient putaway and pick paths.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly slotted, labeled, and stored per DC location standards to support pick accuracy and throughput targets.
  • Support slotting and re-slotting projects based on velocity, seasonality, and space utilization needs.

Support DC Operations:

  • Collaborate with associates, leads, supervisors, and the DC manager to align inventory accuracy and availability with outbound demand and inbound flow.
  • Assist with receiving, putaway, and replenishment of new shipments to keep pick locations stocked and available.
  • Coordinate with outbound/pick teams to flag stock shortages, location issues, or discrepancies before they impact order fulfillment.

Inventory Audits and Reporting:

  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with DC inventory control policies.
  • Provide reports to DC leadership highlighting accuracy metrics, shrink trends, and recurring discrepancy patterns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
