Lead I Software Development  | S&P Dow Jones Indices

In the position of a senior backend developer for Web Platform applications, your duties will include the creation of distributed systems that are not only highly scalable but also deliver high performance, with a focus on enabling efficient data distribution. Within this role, as part of the team, you will be involved in the development of innovative applications and products that are leading the way in technological advancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Java and/or Scala
• Proficient in data structures and computer fundamentals
• Advanced experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot etc.)
• Excellent coding, debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in API design using RESTful techniques
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure etc.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities 

• Participate in various planning, backlog grooming and technical design reviews
• Writing quality backend code, including unit, integration and e2e tests
• Providing coaching and mentoring to the engineering team
• Perform thorough code reviews, follow best engineering practices with performance, scalability, resiliency and security as key tenets
• Collaborating and contributing in an inclusive and diverse environment to continuously build a healthy work culture.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $128,500 - $170,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.  This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
