Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. degree required.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible by ABEM or ABOEM
• Two (2) years post residency experience required.

 

 

Summary:CICONIX is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Jennifer Moreno VA Medical Center in San Diego, CA..About the Role:

• Perform direct patient care in the ED, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and disposition of patients.
• Conduct initial evaluation and emergent treatment of minor to life-threatening conditions.
• Perform medical procedures such as intubation, central venous line placement, wound repair, and emergency airway management.
• Stabilize and coordinate the transfer of patients requiring a higher level of care.
• Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs).
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions for patients.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation using the VA’s electronic health record system.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and peer reviews.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree required.
• Licensure & Certifications (Current & Unrestricted):
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
  • Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
  • Active DEA certification required.
• Experience: 
  •  Two (2) years post residency experience required.
• Security & Background Check: 
  • U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. 
• Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.

Compensation: Estimated $140 - $180 per hour
