Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the successful management operation of all fair labor practices, staffing/recruitment, worker compensation, employee relations, company benefits, employee training. Develop and manage processes and programs to reduce and control voluntary turnover.
ESSENTiAL DUTiES & RESPONSiBiLiTiES:
- Recommends as to the hiring, firing, advancement, or promotions of employees. - Develop and implement sound policies and procedures.
- Manage, direct, and supervise all HR personnel.
- Preparation of budgets and business plans.
- Assist in administrative matters.
- Enforcing all Labor Department guidelines for hiring and separation, Wage and Hour standards, Department of Labor and ERiSA. - Oversee and monitor employee benefits and other programs.
- Manage and administer policies and procedures as described in the employee handbook and corporate policies and procedures manual.
-Responsible for developing and administering training programs for all areas.
- Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers.
- Manages the process and programs to effectively control and reduce loss time injuries, including administering of workers compensation.
- Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and the manager.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
SUPERViSORY RESPONSiBiLiTiES - This position oversees the human resources manager and human resources business partners.

- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. - Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing and Gaming Commissions.
- Must complete NMAST certification. - Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
- Bachelors (B.A. / B.S.) degree from four year college or university or equivalent required.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Four to Ten years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- intermediate knowledge of computer programs (outlook, excel, word, powerpoint) required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to promote cooperative approach between departments.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
