Our work depends on a Contracts Director with extensive contracts management experience to lead an organization of contracts professionals. This position will work closely with various departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to mitigate risk and align contract terms with the organization's strategic objectives. The Contracts Director will be an integral part of the Sector leadership team and be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of highly complex contracts within the Air & Space Forces Sector.

HOW A CONTRACTS DIRECTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Directly and through subordinate managers, oversee the work of the contracts professionals within the Air & Space Forces Sector
• Ensure internal contractual compliance with relevant terms and conditions and compliance with designated management objectives
• Provide advice, counsel and interpretation of contracts and acquisition requirements to various leaders on a daily basis
• Negotiate contracts, including price, terms, and conditions, and reviews subsequent contractual documents for legal sufficiency prior to execution
• Serve as point of contact with internal departments concerning specific contract questions, issues, and problems related to Sector contracts
• Review requests for proposals and participate in proposal color reviews to include providing input on pricing and scheduling strategies, coordination of requirements and proposal risk assessments
• Engage with agency contracting executive counterparts to develop and cultivate relationships
• Review and approves solicited and unsolicited proposals for submission to customers
• Review and negotiates various types of agreements
• Interpret contractual work requirements and obligations
• Make recommendations regarding contracts implementation
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices
• Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Bachelor's degree
• Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in US Federal Acquisition preferred
• Required Skills and Abilities: Must demonstrate proven experience leading successful disparate geographic teams. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as advanced analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation abilities. Experience in identifying risks in terms & conditions and facilitating the mitigation of those risks. Highly experienced with various contract types. Advanced knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and customer agency supplements. Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills. Experience negotiating contract terms.
• Required Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• US Citizenship required
• Location: This is a hybrid position working at our GDIT facility in Falls Church, VA. Must be comfortable working onsite (3) days a week.
