Who will you be working with?
L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor or MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our welding team. This position works directly with other welders and welding supervisors on a daily basis. This position may also work with production engineers, the production manager, and the paint and steel prep departments on shop related projects.
This position rotate shifts every other week on days and afternoons. Day shift operates Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm. Afternoon operates Monday through Friday 2:00pm through 10:00pm. OT is possible depending on production needs.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the welding department, you will be responsible for MIG and TIG production welding primarily on various mild and stainless steel, brass, and aluminum material. This position works directly with our Steel Prep and Paint departments as a part of our fabrication and assembly process. This role may observe, guide, and assist with training. You will have the opportunity to work with beginners and skilled welders. Join our unique team and grow your skills and abilities.
What do we want to know about you?
- 18 years or older
- High School diploma or GED with 1-year related experience, or completion of technical college welding course.
- Blueprint reading.
What will your typical day look like?
- Knowledge and understanding of basic maintenance on MIG and TIG welding machines.
- Use of torches, grinders, drill presses, plasma torches, drills, and other shop equipment.
- Correctly assembly and weld all oil cooler frames, radiator frames, including sub-assemblies, list radiator and oil cooler parts.
- Collect parts for final assembly and prep for assembly.
- Responsible for the basic maintenance and care of equipment and tools.
- Change gas bottles as required.
- Assist in other areas of production as needed if qualified.
- Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedure.
- Domestic and international travel possible depending on the project.
- Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor.
What about the physical demands of the job?
- Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
- Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Stand on concrete for 8-10 hours.
- Work in high heat conditions.
- Practice and maintain safe work conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
- Follow instructions and read SP’s.
- Interact well with others.
- Blueprint, assembly, and schematic reading.
- Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
