Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant - Resource Center - Full Time

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant is the accurate and timely preparation of reconciliations and month-end closing entries, including those pertaining to fixed assets, executed with a proactive mindset and a commitment to ownership of deliverables. This role will also provide support to the Controller and Director of Finance in the oversight of financial activities for the Food Stores, Kitchen, and Service Centers, which collectively generate approximately $90 million in annual sales within New Hampshire and Vermont.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare monthly bank account and other balance sheet reconciliation;
2. Prepare monthly closing entries including but not limited to:
   • Prepaid expense entries
   • Fixed asset additions
   • Depreciation expense
   • Various accruals
3. Prepare daily cash journal entries;
4. Work with store locations and banking contacts to remediate issues with cash;
5. Prepare supplemental data as requested for financial packages;
6. Work with the Controller and Director of Finance to ensure the production of accurate and timely financial statements;

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting plus 4+ years’ experience for Senior Accountant
2. Associate’s degree in Business/Accounting plus 2+ years’ experience for Staff Accountant
3. Professional certifications preferred but not required
4. Proficient in use of PC and computerized accounting systems.
5. Knowledge of Acumatica accounting software strongly preferred
6. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
