Position Summary and Qualifications:

Part-Time Assistant Coach/Instructor participates in coaching and instructing student-athletes who are members of the university’s intercollegiate Men’s Soccer program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  (include but are not limited to)

Essential Duties:

• Coach/instruct student-athletes in the Men’s soccer program.
• Evaluate student-athlete skills; create and execute appropriate lessons to develop those skills through hands-on instruction.
• Provide regular feedback to students about their athletic performance.
• Participate in scouting; assist with practice and game planning.
• Work collaboratively with the head and assistant coach(es) and team support staff to mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the field.
• Ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken during training.
• Recruiting - on an occasional basis
• Adhere to all NCAA and member conference rules and regulations

• The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check
• The successful candidate may be required to obtain First Aid, CPR, motor vehicle safety certification, and other job-related certifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Training and Experience)

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Must have strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities
• An inclusive and servant approach to leadership

Preferred:

• Intercollegiate playing or coaching experience

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

• Ability to participate and/or demonstrate drills
• Some travel, nights and weekends related to competition
