As a Service Desk Technician (Information Systems Specialist 3) in Salem, Oregon, you will provide agency wide: technical support, diagnostic help and operating instruction for users of microcomputers, data communications, networked hardware, and systems software. Duties include:
Reporting and troubleshooting all hardware, software, and network issue
Assist in the agency’s management of IT assets
Management of agency IT inventory records
Day-to-day operations of processing purchase requests

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet one of the following options:
- Option 1: Two (2) years of information systems experience providing help desk support
Option 2: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Option 3: Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.
Desired Attributes
Technical experience with microcomputer and data communications hardware and systems software, networks, printers, modems and peripherals
Experience with all major aspects of computer operations including hardware, software, system administration, telecommunications, systems integration, connectivity and networking
Experience using a ticketing system in a help desk environment
Experience training people having varying levels of microcomputer experience
Customer service experience using follow up procedures
