Facilities Operations Assistant

POSITION SUMMARYeGenesis is seeking a reliable, organized and responsible person to join the eGenesis Facility Operations Team to support our Animal Care Teams in Northwest, IN.  The ideal candidate will enjoy completing a variety of hands-on tasks while working closely with Team members at the Rensselaer farm.  Day-to-day responsibilities are critical to the smooth and efficient function of the farm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load/Unload materials from warehouse into the facilities
• Assist with ordering and maintaining the inventory of consumables for labs, kitchens, and facilities
• Order, pick up, deliver and enter groceries into facilities
• Occasional off site laundromat responsibilities
• Packaging, delivery and shipment of packages
• Assist with and complete routine facility maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of inside & outside of facilities
• Ability to operate or learn to operate tractor & loader for supply loading/unloading
• Promote and adhere to safety in workplace
• Ensure compliance with company biosecurity practices to safeguard the health of our herd
• Other tasks and responsibilities as necessary for the efficient operation of the facilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player with the ability to work with a diverse group of people in a dynamic environment
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, shift a minimum of 50lb
• Ability to occasionally work evenings, and/or weekends as business needs dictate
• Must have valid driver's license and dependable vehicle

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work indifferent environments, including farm, shop, office and animal husbandry environments in varying weather conditions.   This position requires physical demands such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, reach with hands or arm and operate a computer.  Employees are regularly expected to lift objects 30-60lbs throughout the day.  Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus.   The employee frequently is required to lift laboratory supplies and equipment with the daily routine.
