Director of Engineering

You take pragmatic and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done, analyze customer feedback and focus on the most impactful and successful ideas customers need, fail fast, and work effectively with external and internal teams. You have experience with large, architecturally complex eco-systems in both consumer and enterprise spaces. You are highly quantitative, have great judgment and passion for building the right product to our customer. You are hands on leader who loves working closely with engineers to architect and develop robust, scalable technical designs. You are a coach, a mentor, attuned to people career aspirations, a leader who creates positive climate in the workspace with focus on empathy.  <h3>What you'll do</h3> <ul> <li>Manage a team of +10 engineers located globally in different time zones</li><li>Hire the best full-stack engineers to fulfill business demands</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional team (product, design) to solve complex engineering challenges Champion delightful user experience </li><li>Cherish and enhance the core culture </li></ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field</li><li>7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams </li><li>5+ years of experience managing software development teams and with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience </li><li>3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers </li><li>5+ years of experience designing and developing complex, interactive consumer applications as an engineer</li><li>Experience in partnering with product and program management teams</li><li>Knowledge of one modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies </li><li>Experience in delivering software projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies </li><li>Experience managing and leading software engineering teams </li><li>Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have beensuccessfully delivered to customers </li><li>Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers </li></ul><span>At Emergence, we’re pioneering a self-improving intelligent agent designed to revolutionize human-machine collaboration.
