40Position Summary
Don’t miss the opportunity to join our team at WashU Department of Urologic Surgery!We have approximately 14 providers who see patients at this location. We have 3-6 providers in the office each day. Our staff is comprised of RNs, LPNs and MAs. We are a close group that works as one team regardless of job title.
Our providers typically see 16-24 patients per day. We see adults of all ages. Our population consists of patients who are surgical and/or procedural with a condition that is urological in nature. The RN role is multifaceted with a heavy emphasis on in-office procedures. This role also includes assisting providers with patient care, pre-op education, and diagnostic testing.
Our clinical team rotates positions each day, some days working with a provider, some days seeing patients. This job is fully clinical. There is no back-office work involved. No calling patients, no pre-certs, no scheduling, etc.
This position is Monday- Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, no weekends or holidays!
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care.
- Provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
- Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/families regarding disease process and symptom management.
- Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
- Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
