What you’ll be contributing:
The Environmental Technician works with the environmental team to promote environmental sustainability and ensure regulatory compliance within Ash Grove Cement. Assist in implementing environmental programs, conduct inspections, and sample and analyze data to ensure environmental regulation compliance. Assist in training environmental policies and procedures, as well as supporting environmental audits and assessments. Conduct environmental monitoring, maintain records, draft reports, and communicate with internal stakeholders regarding environmental matters.
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
- Assist in compliance with all environmental permits and all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Areas of compliance include air, water, and waste.
- Maintain a compliance task list and monitoring system including deadlines needed to ensure compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of various reports/renewals, including:

- Title V permit renewals
- Quarterly, semi-annual, and annual compliance reports
- Emission Inventory
- Construction permit applications
- NESHAP reports
- Discharge monitoring reports
- Hazardous waste generator reports
- Water consumption reports
- Conducts Environmental Assessments: Perform inspections of facilities, sites, or operations to identify potential environmental risks or hazards. This may involve analyzing air quality, soil contamination, water quality, or other environmental factors.
- Conducts sample Collection and Analysis: Collect samples of various environmental media, such as water, soil, air, or waste, following established protocols. Conduct laboratory analysis or coordinate with external laboratories to assess the samples for pollutants, contaminants, or other parameters.
- Performs data management: Record, organize, and manage environmental data obtained from inspections and sample analyses. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of data for regulatory compliance or reporting purposes.
- Helps with compliance monitoring: Assist in monitoring compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards. This may involve tracking and evaluating emissions, waste management practices, or other operational activities to ensure adherence to environmental requirements.
- Helps with environmental reporting: Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation related to environmental compliance. This may include compiling monitoring data, preparing permit applications, or assisting in the submission of regulatory reports to relevant agencies.
- Promotes and helps with safety compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during environmental sampling, site visits, or sample transportation. Identify and address potential safety hazards or risks associated with environmental activities.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Environmental studies, engineering, natural sciences, law, operation management and analysis or related fieldSome post diploma working towards a 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- 3 years of experience in related job in regulatory field
- High school gradution or equivelent is required
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Willingness to learn, training will be provided
