Job Overview
The Director of Global Marketing and Product Management leads the teams responsible for:
- Developing and executing the strategic plan to balance the product portfolio through short and long-term innovations, divestments, partnerships and acquisitions to achieve growth targets.
- Managing the existing product portfolio by supporting execution of global product and clinical marketing activities in partnership with global commercial operations and sales regions
- Leading the new product development process by ensuring that the product management team obtains voice of customers, competitive intelligence, and technical support within the market.
- Responsible for developing and ensuring the value proposition of the product or therapies continue to meet the needs of the market and deliver business growth.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Direct and manage the VS global marketing, product management, strategy, business and market development, innovation program management, and OEM business teams to create and lead global strategy, marketing, and field sales training, with dotted line management of global marketing communications for the business.
- Drive development of the long-term strategic plan for business areas through the ACT Playbook process and gain regional alignment.
- Maintain an overview of the product areas, including competitive landscape and market demands and use this knowledge when assessing ideas and strategic activities.
- Lead portfolio planning and reviews with Operations and R&D and regions to include product lifecycle plans, price/product performance, business tracking and market trends
- Partner with global and regional commercial operations to support execution of Marketing programs including clinical marketing, product campaigns and market introductions for new products
- Develop external interfaces with health care providers, professional societies, academia, and industry partners expand on and optimize the innovation roadmap and strategic view.
- Lead the continuous work of managing and optimizing the product portfolio and strategy. Lead M&A for the business. Identify and recommend indications and product areas to invest, divest, or sustain.
- Using financial input and market development estimates to continuously track the portfolio development, identifying trend shifts.
- Lead customer value-based programs or initiatives that clearly illustrate the value of the ACT portfolio to end users, payers, and providers; and health economic programs that illustrate the cost effectiveness of our therapies, e.g. cost effectiveness analysis, budget impact models, burden of illness studies.
- Coordinate all efforts with Global MarCom, ComOps & Clinical Marketing, and Therapy Development to ensure alignment and prioritization of activities.
- Responsible for training and development of all direct reports.
- Able to internationally travel up to 30%
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in business or similar qualification
- 10 years of medical device or healthcare global product marketing and business management experience, including experience in a leadership/decision-making capacity. Experience with Vascular Systems preferred.
- Experience developing and launching medical devices
- Experience living or traveling globally to develop market knowledge and achieve business goals.
- IT knowledge: MS office, emailing systems
- Fluent in English. Familiarity or fluency in other languages, a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of clinical evidence and methodology.
- Ability to execute and to lead indirect teams
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Solid business acumen
- Foundational understanding of Medical Device, Healthcare, and/or Life Sciences markets
- Knowledge of customers’ applications within the product area of responsibility.
