About the role

Salary: 200K plus bonus

Location: Hybrid (in the Torrance CA office at least once a month)

One of Jump's prestigious clients has enlisted our help in hiring for a VP of Marketing to join their leadership team. Our client is a leading independant publisher of educational and psychological assesssments, based in Torrance, CA. This individual will play a crucial role in working collaboratively to realize a prosperous strategic vision for their well-established company. This long-standing business, family owned buisness is not only profitable but thriving, and this role will be instrumental in maintaining this growth trajectory. Through strategic leadership in growth marketing, the VP of Marketing will significantly contribute to enhancing the brand recognition and expanding market share.Responsibilities:

  • Champion a flywheel approach to leverage customer satisfaction for continuous growth through referrals and advocacy. 
  • Lead a dynamic team in rapid, data-driven experimentation across the entire customer journey, from acquisition to retention. 
  • Demonstrate agility, ensuring marketing decisions are measurable, scalable, and aligned with overarching growth objectives. 
  • Take responsibility for creating, communicating, and implementing successful marketing plans, strategies, and teams. 
  • Identify and plan differentiated and impactful marketing strategies/materials. 
  • Build, manage, and coach a high-performing, scalable marketing team. 
  • Drive marketing campaigns to meet business objectives and generate leads. 
  • Direct and support market research for short- and long-term market forecasts and reports. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve sales and marketing goals. 
  • Grow e-commerce revenue through marketing initiatives. 
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure cohesion in marketing and communications channels. 
  • Identify competitors, evaluate their strategies, and devise counterstrategies. 
  • Build long-term successful relationships with employees, clients, government officials, and stakeholders. 
  • Identify market opportunities and lead change within the department to capture those opportunities. 
  • Craft presentations and materials to communicate progress to senior leadership. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate marketing's vision and priorities. 
  • Motivate, recruit, lead, and develop a diverse team. 
  • Set stretch goals and develop operational plans in alignment with the company's vision and strategy. 
  • Anticipate and plan for future departmental needs within the companywide context. 
  • Create a departmental vision and strategy that aligns with the company's vision and strategy. 
  • Communicate the vision and strategy clearly and concisely. 
  • Follow through and proactively communicate reliably. 
  • Represent the interests and goals of the entire organization, especially in cross-departmental projects. 
  • Clearly articulate the business impact of decisions at the project or task level. 
  • Drive and support large-scale organizational change initiatives. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in business, marketing, or communications.   
  • Prior successful experience in acting in a leadership role (Sr Director or above) digital and physical marketing strategy implementation for at least 3 years.  
  • Prior successful leadership of a Marketing Department that demonstrated a high level of successful ongoing client interactions and relationships.  
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills 
  • In-depth knowledge of market research and ability to communicate data driven choices to a variety of audiences. 
  • Able to demonstrate effective emotional intelligence, leadership, and empathy for others. This includes the successful ability to give and receive constructive feedback, and lead by example the company values.  
  • Able to make effective decisions through structured, data-driven thinking coupled with creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent proactive communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on a variety of levels.  
  • Ability to work as a change agent inside a legacy business and influence positive changes that promote the scalability of the company.  
  • Successful demonstration of the ability to influence positive change and achieve buy-in from a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of how to successfully leverage functional areas of market research for effective prioritized decision-making.  
  • Able to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Able to demonstrate a strategic approach that translates into positive transactional change.
