We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Dental Receptionist to join our growing team and deliver exceptional service across 5+ dental practices in Brooklyn and Queens. As a senior team member, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing front office operations, ensuring seamless patient experiences, and mentoring junior staff.
This role requires extensive experience in dental administration, strong leadership abilities, and proficiency in managing high-volume, multi-provider scheduling. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and excels at problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Hourly rates start at $25 / hour. Candidates with meaningful experience can earn higher compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage patient scheduling for consultations, treatment, and follow-ups across multiple locations using advanced orthodontic scheduling software (e.g., Dentrix Ascend, Open Dental).
- Lead front office operations, ensuring efficiency in patient check-in/check-out, documentation accuracy, and workflow coordination.
- Expertly verify and process insurance claims, ensuring compliance with industry standards and resolving complex billing inquiries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for providing clear and compassionate communication regarding treatment options, financial policies, and appointment logistics.
- Maintain meticulous patient records in the dental management system, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation.
- Coordinate with providers, treatment coordinators, and dental assistants to ensure seamless patient flow and high-quality care.
- Develop and implement front office best practices, improving operational efficiency and patient experience.
- Train junior receptionists and administrative staff, ensuring adherence to office policies and excellence in customer service.
- Handle complex insurance claims, appeals, and reimbursement processes, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Optimize scheduling efficiency to maximize provider productivity while maintaining patient satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, insurance regulations, and advancements in dental office technology to continuously improve front desk operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in dental reception, front office administration, or a similar senior role.
- Expert proficiency in dental office software (e.g., Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
- Extensive experience in insurance verification, claims processing, and revenue cycle management.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and oversee front office staff.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced environment with confidence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, ensuring smooth office operations.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, front desk protocols, and HIPAA compliance.
