The Director, Oncology Strategic Accounts will report to the Sr. Director, Strategic Accounts and serve as the first line leader across all high value targeted oncology accounts, which may include Oncology GPOs, IDNs, Aggregation Groups, Group Practices, Cancer Centers, Infusion Centers, Academic Hospitals, Pathway developers, oncology stakeholder organizations and meeting organizers, etc. The Strategic Account Director, Oncology will possess a broad understanding of the current and evolving oncology market landscape and various contracting, purchasing, reimbursement and billing models.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the customer engagement and build awareness and preference for Azurity oncology portfolio and support for Azurity contracting structures with Oncology stakeholder accounts
  • Facilitate the coordination of Azurity contractual obligations and as necessary, re-evaluation of contractual agreements, to preserve positive reimbursement rates for Azurity products
  • Maintain timely reporting of current customer insights, business interactions and Azurity product performance against goals
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the oncology landscape and related business models, clinical guidelines, payer policies and contracting processes
  • Build and execute a strategic business plan that contributes to the overall department and corporate business results.
  • Develop and grow business partnerships across assigned customer segments with key decision makers and stakeholders
  • Partner with the Azurity institutional sales leaders and support their teams with insights to the oncology reimbursement landscape, including billing, coding, EMR, formulary decision making, buy and bill purchasing processes, patient support services and best practices
  • Attend national and regional stakeholder conferences, trade shows, industry meetings, and customer sponsored events, as applicable, to further develop the alliances between external stakeholders and Azurity
  • Track and analyze performance against existing contracts to ensure compliance with agreed upon metrics and customer obligations
  • Present customer insights to internal teams during regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings
  • Work cross functionally to support and develop a strong alliance and regular meeting cadence with oncology marketing to create competitive and targeted messaging to business customers and HCPs
  • Always adhere to relevant pharmaceutical industry regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies in all business supported settings and industry meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years' experience within the commercial pharmaceuticals/biotech industry with 2+ years working in a market access or complex/specialty sales, external customer facing role
  • People leadership experience and institutional sales experience a plus
  • Strong business acumen and contracting experience with oncology GPOs
  • Experience and working knowledge of IDNs and institutional payer reimbursement models, including buy and bill
  • Experience and understanding of the Oncology landscape required
  • Current and relevant understanding of the market access landscape impacting pharmaceuticals, including headwinds and trends impacting oncology providers and patients
  • Strong executive presence, public speaking, presentation development and platform skills
  • Organized business management style with attention to detail
  • High degree of integrity and ethics and support of Azurity’s core values
  • Willingness and ability to travel as a regular course of business with adherence to all Travel and Expense regulations is expected
