Job Description
Job Purpose:
We are looking for a Corporate Travel Director to optimize and oversee the travel activity for our Universal Studio Group Corporate and television productions. Reporting directly into our EVP's of Production, this role is based at the Universal Lot, Universal City, CA. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and excellent communicator, able to work with many different NBCU productions and our travel management company. You will help strategize and advise on travel needs for both domestic and international needs, facilitating customer communication, helping to manage costs and provide expertise when there is a white glove or emergent need requiring specialized attention.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with NBC Universal executives, NBCU VP Global and BCD Travel management
- Strategize with internal clients to understand production travel needs, schedules and locations to optimize airline and hotel contracts
- Provide and seek financial approvals for all assigned production bookings
- Ensure cost savings for productions and employees
- Must have experience in supporting VIPs and talent travel bookings
- Person is required to be available beyond typical workweek including evenings and weekends to support emergent travel requests
- Experience with air charter contracting, hotel contracts review required
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements:
- 10+ years experience working high volume corporate travel , preferably in entertainment setting
- 5+ years’ experience management role
- Experience with Sabre skills, international rates plus understand hotel contracting.
- Person must have experience managing teams and projects and being able to communicate with C-suite executives
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Desired Characteristics:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, or Communications preferred
- Knowledge and strong contacts with Airline Carriers
- Knowledge of Concur travel and expense management systems is recommended.
- Must be organized and exhibit demonstrable good judgment
- Must be detail oriented
- Must have ability to multi-task and prioritize in very busy situations
- Excellent people skills, organizational ability and a great deal of professionalism is a must.
- Must be client focused and solution driven.
