JOB SUMMARYPromotes students’ participation in academic and social activities by addressing challenges related to physical, sensory, cognitive, and psycho-social abilities. Provides assessment to guide therapeutic intervention to ensure student success and promotes an exemplary education program fostering achievement for all students. Develops and promotes good relations among the school community: parents, staff, administration and other community members. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. 1.

Provide direct and consultative services to students, both individually and in groups to enhance sensory motor skill development and improve participation. Ensure implementation of accommodations, environmental modifications and use of adaptive equipment to support student success across the educational daily routines

2.

Conduct ecological, formal and informal assessment to determine students’ functional abilities and the impact of physical and sensory motor impairment on participation in daily routines

3.

Plan and develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment results to help students achieve educational goals

Weekly 15%

4.

Monitor and communicate student growth and progress, adapt intervention as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.

5.

Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes using data-driven interventions integrated into the classroom routine.

6.

Demonstrate strong communication, organization/planning skills, and problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, parents and administrators.

7.

Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and/or family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.

8.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants as needed.
