Your Specific Responsibilities:

Under the direction and supervision of the Florida Commerce Economic Accountability and Transparency Deputy (EAT) Director, this position is responsible for supporting Commerce’s critical objectives and priority issues by organizing resources, expertise, data, and research to focus on and solve the complex economic challenges facing the state.   

 

This position will perform the following functions:

 

  1. Work collaboratively with the EAT Director to:
    1. Coordinate Department audit responses across all programs.
    2. Consult with the Executive Leadership Team and Commerce program staff to ensure consistency and standardization related to certain categories of audit responses.
    3. Assist the Office of Inspector General in the coordination of projects with state and federal auditors.
    4. Work to develop a systematic business approach to all standard audit questions and findings.
    5. Develop executive-level briefs and regular audit status reports and communication.
    6. Encourage internal collaboration and communication by working proactively and effectively to maintain relationships with Commerce’s Divisions.
    7. Track all ongoing audits.
    8. Maintain audit history.
  2. Work directly with Department staff to ensure effective and efficient audit responses and reporting.
    1. Schedule program-level meetings.
    2. Track answers and responses.
    3. Hold regular meetings with program staff with respect to audit resolution and response.
    4. Take steps to ensure prior audit findings on the same topic are accounted for.
    5. Develop, in consultation with programs and the Inspector General, standard categories for repeated audit issues and requests.
    6. Coordinate any fieldwork that may be necessary with the respective programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of statistical and data analytics techniques and methods.
  • Superior editing and written communication skills.
  • Superior verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency in professional technology solutions (Microsoft Office, data analytic tools, Adobe, SmartSheet).
  • Ability to be a hands-on team player.
  • Ability to be proactive and work efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervisi
