MEDICAL ASSISTANT/SURGERY SCHEDULER POSITION OVERVIEW:
Candidate must have two years specialist office experience. This position will be working one on one, with a Spine surgeon. Ideal candidate must be reliable, professional, able to multitask and have good attention to detail. Must work well both individually and as a team. Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check prior to starting.
Pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00 per hour, and based on experience.
This position does require travel to our satellite office, once per week (12 miles away).
Surgery scheduling responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries and coordinate with patients, reps, surgical assists, and other healthcare professionals
- Obtain necessary pre-operative authorizations and medical clearances
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery preparation instructions and post-operative care
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain necessary approvals
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records system
Medical Assistant responsibilities:
-Ensuring patient charts are up to date.
-Prepping the patient for office visit, x-ray etc.
- Answering and returning patient phone calls, faxes, emails, out of work paperwork etc.
Requirements:
- Proficient in medical terminology and knowledge of surgical procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide exceptional patient care and support
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
- Experience in medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Previous experience working in a surgical office setting is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience

Requirements
MEDICAL ASSISTANT WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typical clinical office and exam/procedure room environment.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinical settings
- Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents
- Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form
- Able to frequently stoop, lift carry and push/pull 15 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds
- Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required.
