Basic Function
As a Communications Advisor, this individual will be a member of the Corporate Communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and administering communications strategies related to the company’s People & Culture (Human Resources) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives using best-in-class methods. He/she will be a subject matter expert for People & Culture communications, creating editorial strategies and content for various LyondellBasell communications platforms. This role will create strategic communication plans, develop effective change management plans, work with corporate partners and employees.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted partner for the People & Culture organization, providing strategic communications support to assigned clients and/or stakeholders.
- Contribute to the alignment and information sharing among the Corporate Communications team about new messaging, resources, upcoming events/activities, etc.
- Serve as a project owner, executing campaigns and projects in support of business objectives with a degree of skill and professionalism.
- Possess initiative to think several steps ahead and anticipate needs of clients / stakeholders and management.
- Proactively develop new ideas, innovative methods and/or tools to communications leadership team with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team in both content development and visual storytelling for LyondellBasell through a broad array of communication assets.
- Creates content for various communications channels to inform and inspire employees to take action related to People & Culture programs and projects, organizational development programs and projects, people change management programs and projects, training programs and projects.
- Maintain the People & Culture communications calendar to effectively and efficiently plan for, prioritize and launch all department-wide communications.
- Develop a variety of in-depth People & Culture communications and successfully coordinate those requests to proactively support the Company’s short and long term HR strategy.
- Provide support for the company’s talent development and recruiting programs.
Min. Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in journalism, communications, business, marketing, public relations or related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience; 4 years of relative experience
- English, additional language preferred
- Must demonstrate solid interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively is a must.
- Demonstrates strong change management and project management skill sets.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
- Solid collaboration and listening skills and the ability to work within and across functions.
- Possesses a solution-oriented approach Command of AP Style, while displaying strong and efficient writing competencies across digital and print platforms.
- Sets stretch targets for self to ensure high quality performance.
- Proven self-starter, willingness to assume management of projects, paying attention to detail and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
