Linux System Administrator - Testbed

CeLeen, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking a Linux System Administrator - Testbed to support a contract within the Department of Energy. This position would support a critical science and engineering computing environments. The individual will join a fast-paced, dynamic, agile team environment passionate about the delivery of computational engineering services and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is well rounded, having experience with modern systems architectures, development methods, tools, and the underlying infrastructure. We are looking for a self-motivated, driven, problem solver to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
• Perform systems management and integration functions.
• Apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
• Diagnosing and resolving issues related to system performance, functionality, and security.
• Using shell scripting to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Creating, running and managing Ansible playbooks.
• Monitoring system health, performance, and resource utilization, and taking corrective actions as needed.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field plus 2 years minimum of server experience //OR// 6 years of experience supporting physical and virtual Linux Servers in lieu of a degree.
• Must have experience in LINUX Systems Administration.
• Experience running RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Ubuntu OS, including installation, configuration, patching and troubleshooting.
• Must have practical experience in using command-line tools, managing files and directories, and performing common system administration tasks.
