Royalty Finance Specialist/Analyst

As one of the world’s most influential cultural platforms, SoundCloud holds a singular market position as both a music-streaming service with the largest catalog of music, and an artist services and distribution business to help artists grow long-term, successful careers.</p> <p>We’re looking for a <strong>Royalty Finance &amp; Ops Specialist to join our Royalty Data - Analytics and Reporting team in Berlin.</strong></p> <p>You will be part of a team that is responsible for SoundCloud's financial reporting (internal and external stakeholders), assisting in informing the strategic vision of our licensing through operational support and various economic analysis, </p> <p>The team’s remit has grown and includes but is not limited to managing the company's Content Cost economics, rights administration of deal terms, royalty &amp; marketing reporting, commercial charting and utilizing the team’s various financial &amp; marketing data points to leverage SoundCloud’s strategic initiatives through concise BI analysis &amp; driven decision making. </p> <p>To strengthen the firepower of this highly cross functional team, we are looking for an additional pair of hands, joining us as a <strong>Royalty Finance Specialist/Analyst.</strong></p> <p><strong>Publishing Operations and Administration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Delivery, tracking and reconciliation of Publishing Licensor Claims</li> <li>Liaison with Publishing Licensors for topics related to claims</li> <li>Calculation of Recoupment of Publishing deals and monitoring of payables</li> <li>Tracking change management of contractual terms and rates</li> <li>Delivery of quarterly usage reporting</li> <li>Ingesting files into BigQuery for analysis</li> </ul> <p><strong>Recording Operations and Administration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in preparing and executing the monthly royalties cycle</li> <li>Update of various performance dashboards during monthly royalties calculation</li> <li>Assist with ad hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders regarding the team’s outputs</li> <li>Support internal and external audits by providing audit schedules, support and responding to inquiries. </li> <li>Various analytical tasks such as reconciliation across multiple systems, payment model outputs and partner performance</li> </ul> <p>You will work with internal stakeholders, as well as directly with our content partners, including record labels, music publishers, and collecting societies, to ensure that we are not only mindful of the company’s critical reporting &amp; financial obligations, but also in building a product that benefits both SoundCloud and the creators we directly support financially.</p> <p><strong>You have: </strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 4-5 years experience working in an analytical or reporting-related role in the digital space.
