Senior Robotics Engineer – Solution Design (m/f/d)

About the role

The AI team at Agile Robots is seeking a dedicated Senior Robotics Engineer with experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) processes. You are expected to have at least 5 years of experience in the field, demonstrating proficiency in the mechanical design, simulation and analysis of industrial production solutions. This position is focused on optimizing the design of robotic workcells. So prior hands-on experience in this area would be a significant plus. 

Your Responsibilities

• Development of key modules to ease the design of production lines.
• Implementation of these modules on real production line scenarios.
• Work closely with the Robotics team to design and implement optimization-based solutions.
• Collaborate with other team members to evaluate and improve existing systems/pipelines.
• Stay updated with the latest tools for design and evaluation of industrial manufacturing processes.
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
• Travelling frequently to our deployment sites, primarily China (up to 40% of the time depending on the stage of the project), to collaborate with on-site engineers in deploying and evaluating our solutions and collecting feedback on their usage for collaborating.

Essential Skills

• Master's degree in computer science, Automation, Robotics, AI, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. 
• Proficiency with CAD design software, ideally SolidWorks.  
• Proficiency with simulation and design environments such as RobotDK, RobotStudio, ideally Visual Components. 
• Experience with Network and Communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, CAN, OPC-UA, etc.
• Experience programming in Python. 
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.

Beneficial Skills

• Experience with C#. 
• Hand-on experience in installation and integration of different kinds of sensors. 
• Hands on experience of PLC Programming. 
• Knowledge on different optimization techniques. 
• Strong verbal and written communication in Chinese (Mandarin).
