ChristianaCare Pulmonary and Respiratory Services is looking for a Senior Office Assistant.
ChristianaCare Pulmonary Specialists provide advanced treatment options in award-winning hospitals and offices in Delaware and Maryland, offering video visits and deep expertise in lung disorders, working closely with other specialists for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. We treat various conditions including asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, severe emphysema, chronic bronchitis, interstitial lung diseases, lung cancer, lung nodules, pleural and mediastinal disorders, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, sleep disorders, and insomnia, including specialized services and endobronchial valves.

Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm or 8am – 4:30pm
- Rotation between Newark Campus & Wilmington Campus will be required
Duties / Responsibilities:
As a senior office assistant, you will be responsible for training and assigning daily coverage to office assistant staff, handling inventory management, scheduling appointments, and patient interaction. A senior office assistant will process referral information, verify insurance reimbursement eligibility, and collect payments. Perform day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received, answer phone calls, and communicate with providers and staff through electronic medical records. Keep patients informed about issues, facilitate testing, labs, and appointments, prepare medical records, and respond professionally. Assist with administrative tasks and adhere to departmental safety rules, reporting unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or violations to their supervisor.

- Accreditation by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Lung cancer surgery.

Education Requirements:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- 2 years' experience in a medical office practice setting is required; 3 years' experience is preferred.
