Summary
The Formula Tech is responsible for preparing and delivering all infant formula. Adheres to all sanitary regulations and standards established by LBCMC and regulatory agencies. Responsible for safe and effective operation of equipment needed to prepare infant formula and maintain sanitation in the preparation room. Completes formula orders and temperature records. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Mathematical proficiency required. Basic mathematical proficiency to include: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and calculation of percentages.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assists with cleaning equipment as assigned.
- Prepares and assures delivery of all breast milk and infant/pediatric formula as ordered.
- Inventories, stocks, and orders supplies to maintain sufficient par levels.
- Calculates new formulations of standardized recipes and obtains verification of those formulations with the registered dietitian responsible for the nutritional care of that patient.
Physical Requirements
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Handling of human milk
- Exposure to hazardous materials (cleaning chemicals).
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
