Description
I - Job Purpose and Summary:
This Role is responsible for Leading the profitable growth and optimization of the PGP product portfolio.
Responsible for helping to drive stronger PGP Gross margin through effective leadership of the product portfolio management process, Pricing Process, Strategy implementation, Lead/prospect development for the extruded crisp & milling business.
Be the key liaison cross functionally with the Sales and Innovation to convert consumer and customer insight into new products and effective penetration into the PGP Strategic Growth areas.
Obtain and consistently maintain an assessment of what is happening in PGP’s actual and potential markets, PGP’s market position and image. This will enable the employee to be responsible for the front end of PGP Extrusion strategy Implementation (Strategy Implementation Office)
Responsible for trade show activities, product launches, digital marketing and advertising placement and spend.
II - Key Accountabilities:
HSE: Always promote a safe work environment through the adherence to all PGPI’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures as well as to all relevant California OSHA regulations to achieve ZERO workplace incidents and injuries.
Product and Portfolio Management:
a. Provide guidance on the product development process and make recommendations to speed up and streamline the NPD process.
b. Manage the product development pipeline from idea inception through to commercial launch or project cancellation.
c. Lead the SKU rationalization initiative and process to identify products that should be eliminated from the product portfolio.
d. Work with sales team to develop new opportunities with existing products and previously developed products.
e. Provide business direction on project teams involving product pipeline and new customer projects.
f. Participate in strategy execution to define and strengthen product offerings.
g. Develop knowledge of customers, profitability, and for the portfolio of products.
h. Price List
i. Maintain and communicate prices for the product portfolio.
j. Work in collaboration with Sales leadership to drive extrusion & milling sales plan.
Seek competitive insights & builds database of competitive intel for decision making in sales process.
Create Lead Management Strategy:
a. Create, align, and implement a platform/process of acquiring new leads, evaluating them for quality, engaging with them and nurturing them through the buyer’s journey. Incorporating into the demand planning process
Grow, automate, and scale the way we engage with and convert leads to customers.
Strategy Implementation:
a. Value Creation: Supports Sales team in creating, defining, and selling PGP value relating to products, services for our customers.
b. Define the key goals per product/industry as aligned with PGP strategic objectives (Must Win Battles)
Prioritization of key tactics to execute strategy.
Marketing Management:
a. Coordinate and leverage ABFI to develop marketing content, consumer, and customer insights.
b. Responsible for PGP’s product line, marketing and brand strategy and margin improvement goals globally.
c. Develop and establish brands for existing core products and promote the strength of the product line with a “New Brand Identity”.
d. With the support of the ABFI Marketing function, coordinate and develop product marketing literature and presentation material.
e. Responsible for trade show coordination and selection of product demos, literature, and promotion coordination with the ABFI marketing organization.
f. Work with the commercial team to execute the regional and global business strategy.
- Create and maintain tools and materials that enable the sales team to effectively represent PGP’s offering with customers.
- Monitor customer and competitor landscape.
- Development and secure production of relevant marketing material.
- Coordination and communication of market information and key trends data specific to the industries in which PGP is active, or potentially pursuing.
g. Chief Liaison with innovation and NPD to drive new product growth.
New Product Introductions (Reactive and Proactive)
Requirements
Education:
· 4-year Business, Food Science, or related Marketing Degree
· MBA with marketing or strategy focus
· Master’s in food science, biology, chemistry, engineering, business, or marketing is a plus.
