The Planning, Projects and Space Management team within the Office of Student Life seeks a creative and detail-oriented professional to advance the ongoing transformation of the Housing and Residence Education website into a more intuitive, engaging, and representative digital experience. This is a temporary position and project anticipated to end on or before October 31, 2026.

The Housing Web Content & Experience Specialist has a direct impact on how prospective and current students engage with the residential experience at The Ohio State University, shaping the “digital front door” to Housing, supporting student decision-making, and elevating Ohio State’s position among peer institutions.

Building on previously completed benchmarking research and design work, this position is responsible for collaborating closely with Housing & Residence Education (HRE) and Student Life Technology Services (SLTS) to implement enhancements and translate functional needs into a cohesive, user-centered web experience.

This position is responsible for:

  • Managing and enhancing HRE website content to ensure accuracy, clarity, accessibility, and alignment with institutional branding
  • Translating complex housing information, services, and processes into user-friendly, engaging web content
  • Improving website navigation, structure, and content flow to support an intuitive user experience
  • Implementing and refining existing design concepts and mockups informed by benchmarking research
  • Ensuring users can easily locate relevant information at key decision-making points
  • Collaborating with Housing stakeholders to gather, prioritize, and refine website content updates
  • Serving as a primary liaison to SLTS, coordinating updates and supporting movement of content from staging (sandbox) to live environments
  • Supporting ongoing website enhancements and maintaining momentum on a multi-team initiative
     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing or updating website content (content management system experience preferred)
  • Strong written communication skills with emphasis on clarity and audience engagement
  • Ability to translate complex information into intuitive, user-friendly formats
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and web usability best practices

Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently

Hours

20 hours per week

Pay Range

$22.93 - $29.95 per hour

Offers will be made within this range based on candidate's education and experience, internal equity and available budget.
