We are seeking top talent to fortify our R15 Paper Machine Maintenance Team with a Mechanical Maintenance Planner, responsible for shutdowns and routine work order planning and scheduling functions as required to maintain reliable equipment operation for one paper machine and associated equipment.
Compensation
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At ND Paper, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
- Develop and update detailed paper machine shutdown schedules
- Facilitate weekly shutdown planning meetings
- Use SAP management tool to create PM’s, task lists, and update bill of materials
- Apply and expand new technology and industry learning toward the work of equipment and process reliability improvement
- Assist in facilitation of reliability work from reactionary & time based to condition based maintenance process
- Fill in for supervisor in their absence, leading and supervising a group of mechanics to maintain equipment
- Provide extended coverage for equipment downtime periods, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
- Will be included on weekend coverage rotation.
Required Experience:
- Previous maintenance planning experience a plus
- Candidate must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities. Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues. Must work well under pressure.
- Candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.

- Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Outlook e-mail, SAP and scheduling software.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous paper machine maintenance or planning experience helpful
