JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall leadership for the Digital Architecture function within the Digital Transformation organization. This leadership role articulates a technical vision, establishes and drives the solution architecture strategy for the full product Lifecyle across TBCT (Terumo BCT’s) portfolio of customer facing digital products. This role has company-wide impact as the primary person driving the future of digital technology at TBCT. This involves close collaboration with peers within I&D, business stakeholders, IT teams, customers, suppliers, operations, supply chain, quality, regulatory and third-party stakeholders. The Architect enables those who implement value by empowering them to make project decisions, allowing faster flow of work and better economics across multiple projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Create the technical vision to enable the Digital Product Roadmap
• Accelerate digital transformation by optimizing, integrating and digitizing key business processes.
• Utilizes digital technologies to introduce efficiencies in all functions at Terumo BCT.
• Envisions new user experiences, products and services in collaboration with business area stake holders
• Define the key technology, platforms and focus for the organization 3-5 years in advance
• Create PoCs to show potential possible outcomes of embracing digital technologies and implementing solutions
• Present, get buy-in on and influence adherence to solutions with key leadership stakeholders across TBCT
• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, customers, business area leaders, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders to implement the  digital strategy
• Influence leaders across functions to shift from a single product design focus to one that embraces and articulates an integrated platform that transforms customer experiences
• Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision across teams on different releases and projects and elaborate the solution by validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives, and creating the Continuous Delivery Pipeline

• Collaborates with Product Management and key stakeholders on progress, budget, release strategy, and releasability of elements of the solution

• Works actively with the Agile teams to ensure that emergent design choices are made with an understanding of the overall solution and minimize technology complexity and avoid unnecessary duplication of capabilities. Participates in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives
• Enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline through appropriate design guidelines and investment advocacy
• Actively participate in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, especially with enabler Epics.
• Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context
• Reviews and approves architectural designs across products
• Provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality and Team and Technical Agility
• Investigate new technologies/tools and their implementation in our products, providing relevant ideas and suggestions. Recommends solutions to current architectural challenges
• Establishes a continuous learning culture for the Digital Transformation Dept by identifying training opportunities for new relevant technologies.
• Develops, or is responsible for the development of, solutions to problems that would routinely be of unusual complexity that may affect diverse functional areas of the business or company
