Job Responsibilities:

Join our team as a Senior Health and Safety Specialist! We are seeking subject matter experts on occupational safety to lead and assist in BGM's health and safety strategy, helping us to align with regulatory requirements and corporate safety goals. This individual will also drive improvements in program performance using audits, behavior-based safety, ergonomics and participation on the Joint Health and Safety committee. What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 5+ years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably automotive

• Strong leadership abilities, able to act as a back-up for HSE Department Leader during periods of absence.

Preferred qualifications:

• Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, or equivalent) are a plus

• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, workers’ compensation, and industrial safety practices.

• Demonstrated success implementing and/or improving comprehensive safety programs in a high-risk, fast-paced environment.

• Experience with ISO 45001, VPP, or similar safety management program

• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills

• Ability to influence all levels of the organization and drive a positive safety culture

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Experience with developing and maintaining EHS software (Intelex) is a plus

• Experience leading cross-functional safety projects

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and ergonomic assessments
