Role Summary

The Institutional Accounting Specialist performs investment accounting and analytical functions necessary to ensure proper valuation of portfolios investing in a broad range of investment strategies.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Perform reconciliations and analysis of differences; inputs and validates various components of net asset calculation and performs analysis for multiple separate accounts, sub-advised, and pooled investment vehicle accounting records.

• Identify, investigate, resolve, and escalate reconciling items and exceptions related to the cash and currency reconciliations, corporate actions, security valuations, net asset reconciliations, security holdings, dividend and interest accruals, and investable cash projections.

• Validate and input client cash flows and make appropriate estimated entries into the portfolio management systems as needed.

• Complete all monthly and quarterly deliverables both for internal and external clients (within tight deadlines). Assisting with year-end audit documentation.

• Assist with the onboarding of new clients and deconversion of existing clients to include but not limited to processing in-kind trades.

• Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, team members, vendors, and other external/internal customers.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field.

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience.

• Mutual fund accounting or fund administration experience with knowledge of investment accounting operations.

• Strong technological proficiency and application.

Additional Assets (Preferred)

• Cash reconciliation, general ledger, security master knowledge, and exposure to derivatives are preferred.

Normal business hours for this position will be 7:45 am CST to 4:45 pm CST. Work hours may extend beyond normal hours based on delays relating to the end of day processes. In addition, after hours and/or non-business day work may be necessary on occasion for coverage of periodic events and special transactions.
