Leidos is hiring an energetic, motivated, innovative individual to be a part of our team supporting Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, MD. The Technical Advisor - Team Leader will work closely with the Program team, CMS Hybrid Cloud Partners, CMS Hosting Coordinators, and CMS Stakeholders to manage, maintain, and optimize application’s performance, durability, and cost to best support CMS and the general public. The Technical Advisor - Team Leader assist the Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor team to deliver solutions that ultimately ensure that the functions of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace are carried out for the US citizen and contribute to efforts to reduce healthcare costs.
As a Technical Advisor - Team Leader, you support our Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor team to play a pivotal role in advising our customers on their cloud adoption and transformation journeys. Your team’s expertise in cloud technologies, coupled with strategic thinking and business acumen, will enable our clients to leverage cloud solutions effectively to achieve their business objectives.
The Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor team will be the catalyst for solutions that are highly innovative and achieved through research and integration of industry best practices. Your team will help influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other cloud partners. Your team will resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Your team will interact daily with various technical resources across different vendors which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer.
The Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor team’s goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help Leidos ensure delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions with minimal business impact. Lastly and most importantly, your team will represent the IUSG Front Office, Managed Infrastructure Service Provider (MiSP), and CMS’ various Product Owners when meeting with the Application Development Organizations (ADO). Your team will help coordinate the identification of opportunities to provide support, modernization, innovation, and other opportunities for their application.
The current work environment is remote leveraging various tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor - Team Leader Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain the Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor Product Family, to include managing and grooming a backlog of product/service enhancements, refinements, and optimizations.
- Become a subject matter expert with CMS Hybrid Cloud and CMS Enterprise Shared Service offerings
- Develop strong relationships and partnerships with the other CMS Hybrid Cloud Product Teams
- Serve as an Escalation Point for CMS Hosting Coordinators and the CMS Hosting Coordinator Team Lead
- Mentor, Develop, and provide Guidance for the Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor Team (Responsibilities listed below)
Hybrid-Cloud Technical Advisor Team’s Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate session(s) to understand detailed requirements (infra, security, etc.): overview of shared services offerings, introduce managed services available, additional deep dives as requested
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and expertise in CMS Hybrid Cloud Product and Service offerings
- Develop and maintain close advisory relationships with the Application Development Organizations (ADOs) being supported within your portfolio
- Develop and maintain a strong positive relationship with CMS Hybrid Cloud Product teams, including a thorough understanding of the Hybrid Cloud Product team’s backlog and work ingestion process
- Ensure all ADOs supported within the portfolio maintain a strong security posture
- Through weekly/monthly reviews of performance and cost data, lead performance and cost optimization efforts
- Lead all application migration and modernization efforts
- Coordinate and ensure all production readiness activities are complete prior to any major cutovers are conducted
- Create and maintain application profiles
- Coordinate Escalations on behalf of CMS IUSG’s Shared Service Providers and O&M Teams.
- Apply Product Management principles to develop, maintain, optimize, and evangelize various products across the CMS ecosystem.
- Maintain domain knowledge expertise in cloud operations and DevOps best practices.
- Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff.
