Software Engineer

As a candidate for this opportunity, you should have a good foundation in Java and extensive experience working in a Linux or UNIX environment. The candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns and Object-Oriented analysis, design, and programming.<br />
Responsibilities:<br />
• Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields. Specific duties include:<br />
• Responsible for performing design, development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of software platforms and applications<br />
• Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, while ensuring they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization<br />
• Develop software tools to assist in creating new capabilities, to facilitate testing, and increase efficiency of yourself and the team<br />
• Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code<br />
• Participate in automation activities to establish Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and DevOps<br />
Clearance Requirements:<br />
An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance.<br />
Required Experience:<br />
• Experience developing software using Java<br />
• A solid foundation in Linux or UNIX<br />
• Experience with AWS<br />
Desired Experience:<br />
• Security+ Certification<br />
• Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Ruby or Python and familiarity with a JavaScript framework such as AngularJS, jQuery, or Backbone.js<br />
• Experience with C++ language<br />
• Experience with Containers such as Docker and/or Kubernetes<br />
• Experience with version control software such as ClearCase or GIT<br />
• Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control<br />
• Experience utilizing relational databases such as Oracle, MarkLogic, Postgres<br />
• Experience utilizing non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Hadoop<br />
Preferred Education and Experience:<br />
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
