Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a Software Engineer - Front End to join our dynamic Cloud Solutions and Interdisciplinary Services (CSIS) team.

As a member of the Cloud Solutions and Interdisciplinary Services (CSIS) team, the Front-End Software Engineer provides hands-on engineering and technical leadership for our projects, such as Computer Aided Mass Appraisal or Google Mobility solutions. The successful Software Engineer will research rapidly evolving front-end technologies, frameworks, tools, and approaches to stay current and know when and how to best incorporate them as part of an overall solution. This position is client-facing and focused on successful project delivery, including providing technical leadership for your project team, collaborating during discovery activities, developing technical solutions, hands-on coding, and testing in an agile/scrum environment. The ideal candidate will elevate our product portfolio through a cohesive, contemporary design language that resonates with users while reinforcing our brand identity. 

 

Essential Functions:

As a Software Engineer - Front End at Woolpert, you will:

 

 

  • Perform client and project discovery activities to understand business and technical requirements as well as user needs and pain points. 
  • Key member of the engineering team, working with client engineering teams, product owners, solutions architects, back-end developers to drive successful project delivery for our clients and solutions. 
  • Design and implement intuitive user interfaces that balance aesthetics with functionality while adhering to accessibility standards (WCAG) 
  • Write clean, maintainable code: implement and test code using software engineering best practices with a focus on creating responsive, performant user experiences. 
  • Contribute significantly to the UX/UI design process, including wireframing, prototyping, and user testing to validate design decisions. 
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback to iteratively improve interfaces. 
  • Follow agile/scrum methodologies and best practices with a user-centered approach. 
  • Work closely with the cloud solutions architect and technical project manager to drive successful delivery of client projects as well as establish repeatable processes and best practices in a professional services organization. 

 

Minimum Requirements 

 

    • 6+ years of experience in front-end software engineering or developer role. 
    • 4+ years of experience front-end development experience in an enterprise environment. 
    • Demonstrated proficiency in front-end languages and technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, node.js, HTML, CSS, responsive design). 
    • Demonstrated proficiency in modern web frameworks such as React or Angular. 
    • Demonstrated proficiency in modern UI frameworks such as material UI or Svelte. 
    • Advanced experience with React and front-end application state management solutions (Redux, Context API, Recoil, or similar). 
    • Strong understanding of user experience principles and best practices for web applications. 
    • Experience with design systems, component libraries, and UI frameworks. 
    • Proven ability to translate UX/UI designs into accessible, responsive interfaces. 
    • Experience with usability testing methodologies and tools.  
    • Demonstrated proficiency in securely consuming APIs. 
    • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile software development methodologies and tools related to team software development (e.g. Git, Jira, etc.) 
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities 

  • Google Cloud Platform experience, project and security setup and configuration 
  • Professional services experience, designing and delivering large enterprise solutions 
  • Cloud-native application development 
  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) 
  • Google Maps Platform development experience, e.g. Google Maps APIs  
  • Experience with performance optimization and web vitals metrics 
  • Familiarity with Cloud concepts and containerization
