As the Director of PET Physics Research, you will lead the PET Physics Research department within a global Molecular Imaging Research organization focused on the predevelopment and design of Positron Emission Tomography (PET). In this role, you will define and drive the PET innovation roadmap from early concepts through production transfer while fostering collaboration across global research, engineering, and clinical teams. You will play a key role in shaping the future of PET technology by guiding research strategy, advancing artificial intelligence–enabled device capabilities, and translating scientific innovation into impactful solutions that improve patient care and maintain Siemens Healthineers’ leadership in molecular imaging.
You are responsible for:
Leading the PET Physics Research department within a global Molecular Imaging Research organization focused on the predevelopment and design of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), including owning the innovation roadmap from concept through production transfer, steering collaboration activities, and optimizing the utilization of global resources.
Defining research direction and owning the PET innovation roadmap, managing key research domains, driving collaboration strategies, and encouraging and reviewing scientific abstracts, peer-reviewed publications, and invention disclosures.
Driving key topics within the global agile Molecular Imaging product development process, ensuring accountability for on-time, high-quality deliverables supporting development projects.
Adopting and implementing best-practice guidelines for the development and validation of artificial intelligence–enabled device functions.
Fostering a strong culture of collaboration across international cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, service, and regulatory, accelerating the path from invention to innovation to market.
Building and cultivating a high-performing PET Physics Research team by attracting top talent, mentoring team members, and empowering researchers to deliver impactful innovation.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical and academic institutions, to advance innovation and sustain Siemens Healthineers’ leadership in the PET imaging market.
Engaging directly with customers, providing subject matter expertise and supporting marketing and sales activities to strengthen customer partnerships and solution adoption.
Advising senior management on PET research strategy, innovation priorities, and emerging technologies shaping the future of molecular imaging.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or master’s degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in research, including roles as both an individual contributor and in leadership positions within research and innovation management.
Specialization in PET technology and applications, nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, or related technologies is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with agile product development methodologies and applicable regulatory requirements.
