BASIC FUNCTION:

The Identity and Access Management Engineer is responsible for providing day-to-day engineering and administration of Identity Management services as well as support for project-based activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the user identity administration as well as maintenance of user access roles. This will include reviewing changes in the production environments and coordinating with the key stakeholders from IT, business delivery teams and/or third party Vendors. Will need to provide analytical and technical guidance to the team and recommends and/or take action to direct the analysis and solutions required.
  • Automate identity and access management processes to reduce manual effort
  • Responsible for user role definitions - the grouping of users by function, or role, enabling role-based permissions and access authorization.
  • Oversees single-sign-on technology that enables users to sign on and authenticate themselves once, then access multiple resources without re-authenticating.
  • Ensures that password synchronization systems are operating in alignment with business needs.  
  • Account provisioning and deactivation.
  • Designs and implements user management workflows by defining a process for user management that includes multiple levels of delegation, review and approval.
  • Escalate and work closely with product vendors to support the technical environment
  • Perform other functions as assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Exercises no supervision; works under general direction and supervision; makes independent decisions.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related IT discipline preferred.
  • 5 years of IT experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with identity and access management systems, such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Okta, and Sailpoint.
  • Experience writing PowerShell scripts
  • Able to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed and collaborative environment.
  • Requires exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to gain a thorough knowledge of the relevant specialty area.
  • Willing to continuously update personal IT skills and knowledge
  • Possess good working knowledge and understanding of Windows credential stores such as Microsoft Active Directory and their related security capabilities and functions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft application software (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio and Project)
  • Working knowledge of typical application life cycle development processes.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to develop a detailed work plan to ensure project success.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time.
