As a key member of the project team, the Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in collaborating with project managers, internal administration, support, and technical personnel, along with external customers, to effectively coordinate and support mechanical service and construction activities. This collaborative approach ensures the successful completion of projects within the established budget and timeframe, adhering to contract documents, plans, and specifications, ultimately achieving Owner/Client satisfaction, and aligning with Intermech’s best interests.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Cultivate and Maintain Strong Relationships: Foster positive and enduring relationships with new and existing customers, peers, supervisors, administrative staff, field craft workers, field supervision, vendors, and subcontractors, guided by principles of respect, trust, and integrity.
  • Comprehensive Project Documentation: Prepare timely, accurate, and complete project documentation, including RFI's, submittals, schedule updates, time records, supplemental work orders, change order pricing, and general project correspondence.
  • Procurement Management: Effectively conduct, document, and track procurement activities and efforts, encompassing commodity materials, consumables, necessary tools and equipment, major equipment packages, and subcontracts.
  • Quality Assurance, Safety, and Subcontract Coordination: Coordinate, schedule, and support quality assurance, safety, and subcontract work to ensure project adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Adaptability to Diverse Project Requirements: Successfully manage the specific daily tasks that vary according to project type, project requirements, and project schedule.

Education and Experience

  • Prior construction industry experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Candidates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in either field may also be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CAD / drafting experience preferred
