The vision of the Wexner Medicine Center (WMC)’s Finance Department is to be a strategic partner in support of the WMC’s tripartite mission, while empowering our people to achieve personal and professional growth. The WMC Finance Department also strives to facilitate decision-making by using leading-edge, scalable tools to help drive efficiencies and operational excellence. In order for the WMC Finance Department to achieve this vision, its people, processes and systems need to be better integrated and aligned. The Senior Project Manager – Finance Department (Senior Project Manager) plays a critical role in the Finance Department reach this vision by helping to develop the roadmap for change and then leading projects on that roadmap. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes.
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple areas of finance from onset through post implementation activities. The Senior Project Manager manages resources, schedules, financials and adheres to stage gate quality throughout the lifecycle of the project. This includes managements of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time delivery. The Senior Project Manager leads education and training as it relates to project management to members of the Finance Department. The Senior Project Manager serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across a project, cultivating the skills needed to build trust and communication among all the project’s stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will have a solid core skill set as well as the ability to interact with all levels of staff and executives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Level Degree required
- 4 years relevant project management experience required; 4-8 years project management experience preferred.
- Work experience in a finance role and/or with a finance team preferred
- Project management (PMP) certification strongly preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, active listening and facilitation skills
- Experience managing, executing, and sustaining major change initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete large-scale projects
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to identify opportunities to disseminate information in an effective and efficient manner
- Advanced experience in computer applications, including Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects), and SharePoint
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to build relationships, collaborate, and work in a complex environment to build consensus
