This position may be located in Morrisville, NC; Fargo, NC; Dubuque, IA or Waterloo, IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an eMachine Module - Sr. Staff Fluids for John Deere Training Center located in one of the following Morrisville, NC or Fargo, ND, Dubuque IA, Waterloo, IA, Moline, IL, you will:
- Lead the development of next generation fluids
- Evaluate the impact of eMachines on the properties of the fluids
- Interface with key internal stakeholders on their needs
- Drivetrain / Hydraulic Core Tech
- Materials Engineering
- Cooling
- Bearings / Tribology
- Interface with external suppliers

What Skills You Need
- 10 years or more of experience in fluids developed for use in complex systems requiring a balance of properties such as heat transfer, materials compatibility and tribology.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, fluid, and thermal systems demonstrated through the test and implementation within production systems.
- Experience working with internal customers to structure and release requirements documents for use by external suppliers.
- Ability to specify industry tests methods or develop new methods and interpret the results.
- Cross discipline experience in a large multi-regional organization.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Understanding the use and specification of additive packs including EP components
- Familiarity with industry fluid suppliers and test resources
- Participation and/or direction of a community of practice in a multiregional company
- Understanding of the needs of fluids in high voltage electrification components such as battery, inverters and direct oil cooled electric machines.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
