Job purpose:

You will join our Structural Engineering team in the Arcadis Iasi office, part of the Mobility GBA, where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from structural engineering, 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like ACC, which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients.

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

• Performing calculations, analysis and providing recommendations and conclusions;
• Collaborate with the team in brainstorming sessions to collectively address engineering challenges.
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies;
• Liaising with the Line Manager to keep informed of all developments associated with the project;
• Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the Arcadis business areas to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry;
• Lead structural engineering tasks on medium to high‑complexity infrastructure projects, delivering safe, sustainable, and cost‑effective design solutions
• Familiar with tools and calculations using Excel or other similar template calculation spreadsheets
• Perform advanced structural calculations and analysis (reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, composite structures, bridge components, foundations, retaining walls)
• Contribute to the production of project Engineering deliverables reports, sketches that are accurate, clear, concise and compliant with Arcadis standards, best practice and any other standards dictated by the nature of the project
• Develop and validate FEM models using specific software or similar tools, ensuring accuracy and robustness
• Commit to receiving on the job technical training by performing tasks, which are under the direct supervision of more experienced staff within well defined limits
• Undertake own production checking of work in progress to ensure that it meets design intent
• Oversee the production of drawings, reports, models, and technical documentation, ensuring alignment with Arcadis Global
• Design Standards and project requirements
• Conduct discipline-level quality reviews, providing corrective guidance and ensuring technical excellence
• Accountable for the technical quality and integrity of the structural design packages under your responsibility
• Ensure compliance with H&S by Design and Arcadis Global Design Standards
• Identify design risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support decision‑making in multidisciplinary design environments]
• Participate in internal and external project meetings, clearly articulating technical decisions, risks, and progress
• Proficient in relevant desktop applications
• Have effective time management skills
• Ensure delivery aligned with agreed budgets, schedules, and quality standards
• Contribute to developing and improving engineering templates, digital methods, and best practices
• Actively participate in Arcadis knowledge networks and promote innovation in design workflows
• Motivated to achieve goals while promoting a culture of quality, innovation, and client focus

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Relevant Structural engineering degree
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a proactive attitude toward self-directed learning and professional development
• Have a track record in designing specialized structural elements such as bridge decks, abutments, piles, or retaining walls
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, reinforced and prestressed, steel and/or composite structural calculations and/or competent in plans detailing/bill of quantitie
