WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS A CORPORATE SAFETY LEAD AT SIGMA:
Position Description
As a Corporate Safety Lead, you will be at the forefront of cultivating a safe and compliant workplace. You’ll design and deliver impactful safety training programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards. From maintaining field and safety equipment to leading investigations into incidents, you'll play a key role in fostering a culture of safety. Your leadership will empower Sigma employees to prioritize safety and ensure our organization remains committed to creating a safe environment for all. Some of the essential job functions
- Facilitate, manage and organize safety training programs for employees, including creation and maintenance of training, policies, reporting and metrics. Ensures that safety procedures are in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Ensures that the organization complies with all relevant safety regulations and standards. This includes staying up to date with changing regulations and ensuring that employees are trained and informed about safety requirements.
- Manage and ensure company safety equipment and resources are available and maintained in good condition. Issues, assigns & tracks field and safety equipment. Including managing inventory and making recommendations on new equipment as needed.
- Establishes specifications, qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for non-technology field and safety equipment.
- Identify and assess workplace hazards and potential risks. This involves conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments to proactively address safety issues.
- Conduct drills to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies.
- In the event of accidents, incidents, or near misses, will lead investigations to determine the root causes and develop corrective action plans to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Create a culture of safety within the organization. This involves promoting safety awareness, encouraging employees to report safety concerns, and rewarding safe behavior.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure that all employees are aware of what to do in the event of emergencies such as accidents, fires, or natural disasters. Including conducting drills to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies.
- Responsible for maintaining records of safety inspections, incidents, and training, reporting out as needed.
- Communicate safety-related information to employees and management, providing regular updates on safety performance and recommending improvements.
- Collaborates with other departments, to address safety issues and integrate safety considerations into all aspects of the business.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
General Requirements:
- Education Requirements – High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or higher is preferred, but not required.
- Experience Requirements - Requires 4+ years of related experience working in a Safety Role.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively promote a culture of safety.
