Within Connected Aviation (CA) Engineering, the Aviation Intelligence (AI) team has end-to-end responsibility for ensuring Collins Aerospace and broader RTX data assets are managed with integrity, quality, and reliability — powering critical customer-facing applications across APIs, analytics, data visualizations, and reporting.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a highly visible role in a fast-growing area of the business, leading complex data, AI/ML, and digital initiatives that directly impact products like Ascentia and FlightAware. What YOU will do:

  • You will lead medium-to-large technical programs ($500K+) across data science, data engineering, AI/ML, and digital initiatives, driving cost, schedule, scope, and resource management.

  • You will coordinate cross-functionally with Connected Aviation, other SBUs, and Digital Technology (DT) teams to ensure successful delivery of high-impact data solutions.

  • You will enable Agile teams to stay aligned with strategic priorities, emphasizing customer value, portfolio visibility, and delivery accountability.

  • You will manage program risks and dependencies, prepare executive-level progress reports, and recommend solutions to complex program challenges.

  • You will support vendor and contractor oversight, ensuring alignment with program objectives and performance expectations.

  • You will contribute to continuous improvement, helping strengthen program management standards and execution across the Aviation Intelligence portfolio.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading medium to large technical programs ($500K+).

  • Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies and tools.

  • Experience with executive-level influence skills, partnering with senior leadership across engineering, digital technology, and product teams.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, or similar analytical tools.

  • Understanding of SQL databases and software engineering practices.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks and DevOps/DevSecOps toolchains.

  • Proven communication and presentation skills with ability to influence leadership.

  • Strong strategic thinking and business planning capability.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in Agile frameworks.

  • Project Management certifications (PMP, Agile, SAFe).

  • Experience managing AWS or Microsoft Azure hosted software solutions.

  • Technical knowledge of Data Management, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Analytics, and/or Data Products.

  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

  • Experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog, Terraform, etc.).

  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives.

  • Aerospace industry experience; familiarity with Connected Aviation or broader Collins Aerospace products.

  • Knowledge of aerospace datasets and protocols.

  • Experience working with international teams.

  • Working knowledge of RTX RLPM or similar centralized operations processes.
