A Day in the Life

This role will be critical in advancing the analytics capabilities within the Diabetes OU. The role will focus on two key pillars. One, expanding our current Power BI dashboards and providing critical insights to Senior Leaders. Two, helping to develop Machine Learning capabilites to improve our forecast accuracy.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage.

  • Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification.

  • Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems.

  • Maintains analytical systems, verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as a liaison to the business.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of work experience in Data Analytics

OR advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years work experience in Data Analytics.

Proficiency in Power BI

  • Expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

  • Ability to create and manage Power BI datasets, reports and dashboards.

Data Modeling

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts

  • Proficiency in creating relationships between different data sources.

Data Visualization

  • Strong sense of design and ability to create visually appealing and insightful reports.

  • Proficiency in using various Power BI visuals and custom visuals.

Business Skills

  • Ability to gather and understand business requirements from stakeholders.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions.

Soft Skills

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different departments.

  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and report reliability.

Basic Knowledge of SAP

Basic Finance Acumen

Nice to Have

Understanding financial statements (P&L, FCF, Balance Sheet, etc.)

Desire to interface with Senior Leadership

SQL

  • Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data from relational databases.

  • Experience in optimizing SQL queries for performance.

Programming Languages:

  • Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data analytics and custom visual creation.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$93,600.00 - $140,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
