Senior Team Lead, Cruise

 

The Senior Team Lead in the Cruise Department will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cruise team.  This includes ensuring that shipments are handled efficiently and effectively, maintaining compliance with all regulations, and providing excellent customer service.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Cruise team, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, serving as a mentor and coach to help develop their skills and knowledge
  • Manage customer relationships, including handling inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with other departments and teams, including export teams, customs brokers, and transportation providers, to ensure seamless operations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and other partners to ensure high-quality service and competitive pricing
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and other required documentation
  • Monitor industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for process improvements and cost savings
  • Communicate with management and other stakeholders on a regular basis to provide updates on team performance, customer issues, and other relevant information

 

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred, but not required
  • 5 years of experience in ocean and or air export is preferred
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred
  • Prior experience in handling shipments for cruise lines and/or marine logistics is preferred

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of ocean and air export regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, customers, and partners
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on that data

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

  • The Senior Team Lead of Cruise will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Cruise team, which may include supervising team members and coordinating with other departments and teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred
  • Prior experience working with ocean and air carriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers is a plus
  • Understanding of Cruise line supply chain processes, port operations, and turnaround time requirements

 

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
