The selected candidate must have a valid/current Texas Driver's license and a clean driving record. This assignment will be benefits-eligible.

Purpose

 To provide entry level skills for the installation, repair and maintenance of telephone and Ethernet equipment. Installation of cat5e and cat6a cabling.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation and routine or emergency maintenance and/or repair of telephone and Ethernet equipment. Installs and maintains telephone and special circuits. Install and maintains telecommunications hardware, key systems and various signaling devices.

  • Reads schematic diagrams to install telephone wires and equipment. Runs conduit and pulls wires for telephone and data purposes. Maintains telephone stations and line records on paper and PC database. Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school grad or GED. 1 year or more experience in installation, repair and maintenance of telephone and Ethernet equipment and installation of cat5e and cat6a cabling.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year or more experience in installation, repair and maintenance of telephone and Ethernet equipment and installation of cat5e and cat6a cabling.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Hourly Rate

$20.00

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Jeans

  • Long pants, closed toe work boots (safety toe recommended), sleeved shirt, no offensive or political slogans.

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 40

  • Work hours - 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - M-F with a .5 hour lunch
