What You Will Do

The Induction Cell Process Engineer is responsible for identifying any improvements that could be made to the cell repair process to better meet customer needs. Your job will include interfacing with all of the Home Cell engineers, Inspectors and Technicians as well as Business Unit Management.   You will be assigned to the Induction Cell within the business unit, and responsible for a Cleaning, Wet & Dry Abrasive Blasting, Chemical Cleaning, Fluorescent Penetrant, Ultra Sonic, Eddy Current, Coordinate Measuring Inspection Processes and Water Jet Stripping. You will also be involved with robot and machine programing. 

You'll also be responsible for selecting, purchasing and implementing new machines and technologies as they see fit to improve the repair process, as well as working with outside groups to write new repairs. You would be part of the CTRP engineering team reporting directly to the Engineering manager. CTRP is an FAA regulated facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and execute cell improvement projects

  • Program and sustain the technical aspects of the Automated Clean Line operation

  • Write machine specs and introduce new technology to the cells, based on improvement projects you select with Engineering Manager

  • Develop process plans and operation work instructions for the Induction Cell shop floor

  • Develop fixturing and tooling for the Induction cell processes

  • You'll be the Internal and external focal point for all communications associated with the repair process for your assigned cell

  • Analyze key business unit metrics (production rates, COPQ) and develop proposals for future cost savings or process improvement repair initiatives

  • Conduct presentations on project status as required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Military, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; OR Associate's degree and 4+ of relevant industry experience.

  • 1+ year of leading process improvement or implementing capital projects

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering or Materials Science fields preferred.

  • MRO component repair engineering experience particularly in an FAA Repair Station / Aftermarket environment.

  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Inspection methods, robotic & CMM programming, chemical cleaning processes and basic part processing.

  • Strong technical and functional knowledge of turbine engines and/or Pratt & Whitney products.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, engine manuals and blueprints.

  • Experience working with CAD/CAM programs, Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/Six-Sigma).
