Job Summary:The Nurse Practitioner Manager maintains oversight for clinical care, professional development and practice administration for a designated group of nurse practitioners. The role of a Nurse Practitioner Manager is to create both a learning and working environment that promotes lifelong learning, professionalism and outstanding clinical quality. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The Nurse Practitioner Manager will work collaboratively with the Urgent Care Leadership team to provide stewardship of the practice. The roles and responsibilities of this role will include, but are not to be limited to the following:

  • Leadership: The Nurse Practitioner Manager will support the hiring and interviewing of Included Heath’s nurse practitioners.  After hire, the Nurse Practitioner Manager will coach and mentor nurse practitioners within the practice, promoting a safe learning and practice environment. He/she will proactively manage individual performance and ensure standards for performance are met, taking appropriate corrective action when necessary in collaboration with the UC Leadership team and Talent & Organization (TAO) partners. The Nurse Practitioner Manager will meet with clinical leadership on a monthly basis to discuss the performance metrics for assigned NPs. The Nurse Practitioner Manager will conduct monthly meetings with nurse practitioners to provide performance feedback and ensure engagement with the practice.Communication: The Nurse Practitioner Manager will facilitate communication between the Clinical and Organizational leadership teams and their assigned nurse practitioners. Equally critical as relaying information from the leadership teams to the practice members is providing amechanism for feedback and escalations from the nurse practitioners to our leaders. They will also be responsible for monitoring communication channels and providing clinical support for clinicians and support staff on shift.Business Development - Occasionally, the NP Manager  will be asked to participate in demonstrations of Included Health applications to support sales and business development teams. In doing so, the NP Manager will serve as an ambassador on behalf of our clinicians and our products, demonstrating our dedication to clinical excellence, patient care and member experience.Other Administrative Tasks- The NP Manager will participate in virtual UC huddles, office hours, webinars, interview and training of new hires.  They will also perform other administrative duties and projects on an as needed basis. NP Supervision: The Nurse Practitioner Manager will be the supervisor of record for a dedicated group of Nurse Practitioners and will provide Supervision in accordance with State and internal NP Supervision Program guidelines. The roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Signing a collaborative agreement with each NP in states where a collaborative agreement is required
  • Review 5% of NP charts annually
  • Complete monthly meetings with each NP
  • Provide coverage for telephone consultations, Slack messaging, and email communications support NPs with clinical questions
  • Providing annual feedbackAnnual review of collaborative agreements 
  • Providing secondary back up for other NPs

  • Clinical Care - The Nurse Practitioner Manager will dedicate approximately 24 hours per week to clinical care of patients on the platform; in the course of clinical duties, the Nurse Practitioner Manager will display exemplary levels of professionalism and clinical quality in all dealings with patients, and will meet practice metrics and complete charting and documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Must possess an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree from an accredited medical school. Additionally, they must hold an active and current board certification in their respective specialty.
  • Qualified candidates must meet all clinical and educational requirements as outlined in
  • the Provider Employment Agreement. 
  • Must hold an active and unrestricted license to practice in Home state as well as have additional multi-state licenses, minimum of 5 in total
  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a clinician in our Urgent Care practice at Included Health 
  • Consistent demonstration of high quality and strong performance metrics
  • Minimum 2 years experience performing patient care on virtual care platform
  • Minimum 3 years supervision experience of nurse practitioners or physician assistants
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
